Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to The Crescent School, a supportive and inclusive school for specific purposes dedicated to providing high-quality, individualised education for every student. Our school is a place where students with diverse learning needs are nurtured, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. We are proud to deliver programs that promote independence, confidence, and lifelong learning while fostering a strong sense of belonging for every member of our community.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with families, carers, and the many people who support our students throughout their learning journey. Our strong relationships with local organisations and community programs create real-world learning opportunities that help students apply their skills in meaningful ways. Our fantastic and hard-working P&C also plays an essential role, providing support that enables students to enjoy a variety of enriching experiences across the year.

Our dedicated teachers and support staff are highly skilled and passionate about special education. They bring expertise, creativity, and compassion t their practice each day, ensuring that classrooms are safe, engaging, and responsive to individual needs. Ongoing professional learning and reflective practice are central to our culture, allowing us to continually refine our approaches and deliver the highest standard of education.

We are proud of the vibrant and caring community that defines The Crescent School. Together, we celebrate every achievement, big and small, and remain committed to providing an inclusive environment where every student learns, grows, and belongs.

At The Crescent School, our SLSOs play a vital role in supporting students throughout the day. They assist with personal care, emotional regulation, and classroom routines, utilising Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), visual supports, and structured systems to help every student engage in learning. Working alongside teachers, they promote independence, smooth transitions, and a sense of belonging. With their calm and caring approach, SLSOs help create a safe, inclusive environment where all students can learn and thrive.
